"Preview Night" a HUGE Success.

Thank you to everyone who attended our "Preview Night" last evening. The attendance was the best I have seen in my eight years being involved in the NHS Band program. It was exciting to see the students perform. Cottrell and his staff have done a great job over the past two weeks of band camp. For those of you who are new to our band program, the planning and thought process for this years program, began over 6 months ago.It is not something that "just happens" over a 2 week period. Cottrell, please accept our thanks and congratulations for a job well done.

I want to give a special thanks to the George family. Willie, Shelby and Megan were life savers. They prepared the hot dogs while Martha and Liz were holding the band booster meeting down in the band room. The George's were a huge help and I personally want to say THANKS for their dedication to the NHS Band program.

Looking ahead to next weekend. As most of you know, we have our first UNC football game next Saturday. It is your first opportunity to begin earning your fair share through UNC Concessions. Our workers probably need to be at the concession stand by 3:15 PM. If this time changes, I will make you aware of it by Friday the 29th. The gates open @ 4 PM. We have to be in place and ready to rock by that time. It takes a little time to have a small meeting to assign stations and discuss things in general. If you are new to UNC Concessions, please send me an e-mail to legacymillwork@mindspring.com with your phone # and I will give you a call toward the end of the week to answer all questions that you may have regarding the logistics of parking and were to enter the stadium. I will be handing out instructions to the students at the ballgame Friday night as well. Feel free to contact me @ 244-1949 (Cell Phone) if you have questions.

I am excited about the next few months. We will get to see many wonderful bands perform and you will make new friends if you are a new to the NHS family. We will have a lot of fun over the next few months. Take time to enjoy.

Enjoy the photos and once again, thanks to all who work so hard to make the NHS Marching Band program a huge success. Remember, it's all about the kids!!

Sincerely,
Jerry Richardson
