MARCHING CHARGER BAND 2009 "1ST FOOTBALL GAME"

In opening, I want to welcome all the new students and parents to our Marching Charger Family. If you wish, you will be able to follow our charger band season through this blog. I hope you find it informative and enjoyable. There will always be photos posted after each event.

Our marching charger band has completed the initial weeks of their 2009 marching band season. After 2 weeks of hard work and many hours of practice, the band performed for the parents and at the opening game of the NHS Charger football team. The parents were impressed with the preview and look forward to a great marching band season. NHS Marching Band Decal Now Available

The 2009 Northwood Band Booster decals will be available for purchase at the
end of Band Camp next week for a cost of $10. Show your Charger Pride and
purchase a window decal for each vehicle you own! "PLEASE SUPPORT OUR MARCHING CHARGER BAND!

Attention Band Members and Parents

Please sign up early for the following UNC Football Games to work concessions. This is a great opportunity to earn money to be applied toward your "Fair Share" expenses. If you have questions, please contact Jerry Richardson @ legacymillwork@mindspring.com

Sat. Sept. 5th - UNC vs The Citadel - Game Time 6 PM. (Workers Arrival time -3 PM.)

Sat. Sept. 19th- UNC vs East Carolina- Game Time 12:00 Noon. (Workers Arrival time - 9 AM)

Sat. Oct. 3rd- UNC vs Virginia- Game time TBA- (Competition Conflict) Will be worked by clubs other than band.)

Sat. Oct. 10th- UNC vs Georgia Southern- Game Time TBA

Thursday Oct. 22nd- UNC vs Florida State- Game Time- 8:00 PM (Workers arrive at 5 PM)

Sat. Nov. 7th- UNC vs Duke- Game Time TBA

Sat. Nov. 14th- UNC vs Miami- Game Time TBA

The Northwood Marching Chargers and Color Guard will be performing at the following competitions for the 2009 season. Please mark your calendars and plan on attending each of these events.

OCTOBER 3RD, 2009= Western Harnett High School, 10637 Hwy. # 27 West, Lillington, NC 27546

OCTOBER 17TH, 2009= Western Alamance High School, 1731 North NC 87, Elon, NC 27244

OCTOBER 24TH, 2009= Union Pines High School, 1981 Union Church Rd, Cameron, NC 28326

OCTOBER 31ST, 2009= Lee Senior High School, 1708 Nash Street, Sanford, NC 27330

Please dial these dates and addresses in on your GPS or I-Phone or stamp them in your brain and please show up to support your 2009 NHS Marching Charger Band from Northwood High School.

NHS Marching Charger Band Camp is almost here!!!!

REMINDER

2009 Marching Band Camp is almost here, please see dates below and make sure you are there. Band camp is mandatory for everyone, please contact Mr. Cottrell if you have any conflicts with the dates outlined below.

• 8/10-8/14 perc 8-12 am, guard and winds 5-9pm
• 8/17-8/21 everyone 5-9pm

The first week may be held at Horton. It all depends on the finished product of the new arts wing.
