NHS Marching Chargers brings home 2nd Place Metal from Bluestone High School

Let me begin by saying, I am sure Richardson is not the only one who was tired when he arrived back at NHS at around midnight on Saturday night from Skipwith, Va.

It was a 100% beautiful day in Skipwith while the Marching Chargers performed at 78.5%, according to the judges at the Bluestone Baron Invitational. Finishing just behind Lee County, our Marching Chargers and Guard brought home 2nd place trophies in most categories, with exception of "Percussion". Congratulation to Percussion on their 1st place award.

The band did improve on their score from 2 weeks ago, but missed the "superior" rating by 1 1/2 points.

We would like to congratulate Mr. Cottrell on winning the contest between the directors and bringing home a nice price for the family. He is very deserving of the prize but not so much of the "title" of the award. (LOL) We will leave the name out of this blog.

Thank you to all who made the trip to show their support to the NHS Marching Charger Band. The students did a wonderful job and will continue to improve as the season moves forward. "Go Chargers"!!!

Please mark your calendar for this Saturday, Oct. 15th. and visit McDonalds of Pittsboro around 11 AM and stay through lunch and listen to our Northwood Band play their program. Please plan on eating at McDonalds as a portion of the profits will be donated to the Northwood Band program.

NHS MARCHING CHARGERS HOMECOMING 2011

The NHS Marching Chargers performed "Desert Sands" on the sideline, due to field conditions Friday night at Northwood. Mr. Cottrell did not want to risk having any of the students slip and possible injure themselves while marching on the field. The band and guard did a great job performing the show in front of the homecoming crowd. "I feel this was a good experience for the band". It could prepare them for possible "rain outs" at our upcoming competitions which could prevent them from marching.

A great time was had by all at during the "homecoming festivities".

The Marching Chargers next performance will be Saturday Oct. 8th at Bluestone High School in Skipwith, Va. Please plan on attending this competition to show your support for our Marching Chargers!!!

I have posted a few photos from last nights performance for you to enjoy.
